This website showcases styles designed and produced by Julie Besso throughout her 25 year career.

Julie Besso first graduated from New York City’s Parsons School of Design in 2000.  Her career began at Armani Exchange. In the 4 years that she was with the company she focused on Men’s Wovens and Denim, and this is where her love affair with denim and washed product started. In 2004, Julie was appointed Designer of Men’s Wovens and Tailoring at Calvin Klein.  In the 5 years she was with the brand Julie helped launch the White Label sportswear brand, as well as launched retail and outlet stores. In 2010 Julie moved to Ann Taylor Loft to overhaul the company’s denim department, and over the five years that she was there, exponentially grew the brand’s denim sales to make Loft a denim destination. 

In 2013 Julie moved to Los Angeles as the Design Director of Men’s and Women’s denim at Lucky Brand. Julie helped conceptualize “Premium Denim” for the brand, partnering with the Italian mill Candiani to elevate the line’s quality. In 2015 Julie moved to Montreal to be the Design Director of Denim at Garage Clothing.  She successfully created a line each season that offered premium looking denim at a highly competitive price point. Currently Julie is Vice President of Design at JAG Jeans. She overseas all areas of product, wash development, color, and concept each season. In joining JAG jeans, Julie’s focus is to elevating the brand with sustainable premium fabrics partnering with Cone Denim and other premium mills.
